This may sound silly..

But saving my money is actually exciting. I like being able to transfer money into my savings account, and be proud by how much is in there. Excited at the possibility of what I can do with that money. And when I stop myself from buying something, I just think of that balance and I don’t “need” it anymore.

Well, most of the time.

A website that Mr Crossley just linked me to.. type in something you like in the search bar, click ‘suggest’, and it will supply you with a bunch of similar things - movies, music, and books.
I approve.

today is international cupcake day.
i am inspired to make some.
however, i am too tired.
i will have to raincheck this inspiration.
but oh how i love cupcakes.

haha. I think we got it wrong.. I googled it, it’s for the RSPCA lol. So I Have a feeling it’s just within Oz. And even then, as Jackson pointed out, it’s not nationally recognised. Way to spoil our fun, internet and Jackson.

I think Reece gets bored. Another one of his marvelous photoshops.
On a related note, I saw Clone Wars on Friday. Don’t blame me, I have “star wars nerd” friends. Kim and I giggled at the silly voices of the droid things, and at the lame “aimed at kids” jokes.

Dreams.

I had a strange dream last night.. Somehow I died, and I was told (up in Heaven, even though I’m not really sure whether I believe) that I could go back and watch upon my loved ones, but I wouldn’t be able to talk to them and wouldn’t be seen by them. Once I came back down to earth, I was watching my dad when he turned around and started talking to me. Then I looked after my cousin (when he was a baby, although he’s about 10 now) and chatting to one of my Aunty’s, when I decided that I wanted to know how I died. I was envisaging a fiery car wreck or something interesting, but it turns out that I was bitten by 6 venomous crickets. Yeah, crickets.

Any ideas as to what that all means?

nuugen:

Friday night.
We ventured from the movies (seeing starwars) to the Australian Pizza House for dinner, to Maccas (some of the boys were still hungry) then to BP and somehow to the skatepark just outside the airport.
We were hoping to watch planes rise and land, but apparently none leave or enter adelaide in these hours on a friday night!
It was about seven degrees celsius outside!
Still, great fun and a great night. I love the spontaneity of it all!
I got home at 5am and somehow managed to be at work by 7am and survive through a 7 hour shift. I am possibly crazy.

This was such a fun night. In this picture, Jarred, Ben, Kim, I, Reece, and Mrotek.
After 5am, we dropped Jarred, Ben and Kim home, and Reece, Mrotek and I hung out until about 7.30.. we saw the sun rise :) Even in this picture though, the sky was starting to get slightly lighter. Such a good night!

Behind the Scenes of ‘It’s Always Sunny’ Season 4

This is one of the most shameless and hilarious shows and it always makes me happy to see it back on the fall TV lineup year after year. I could watch Charlie Day for hours, the man is a comedy genius.

Best show nobody is watching.

It never played over here.. luckily a friend downloaded it and it has done the rounds between our group of friends. One of THE funniest shows. I like a lot :)
The fact that there is a season 4 coming out makes me happy.

“with notes by Professor Albus Dumbledore.”

I just got this from my email subscription to Dymocks - and honestly, I think she should have just broken free of the Harry Potter franchise.. started with something fresh and original. Surely she’s made enough money off of little Potter already?

I won’t read this. But I would read something new that she wrote, out of interest. No more wizard tales, though, thankyou!

This is a place for stories now.

Do you have a sad playlist? I do. I wrote about it at Gawker but I didn’t say everything I meant to. Here’s what I did say:

I assumed until a few days ago that everyone had a playlist full of sad songs for when they felt really low. I mean I only had two mix CDs in college: Favorite new music, and the sad playlist. I’ve curated that sad playlist (now named “Blue”) for six years. It’s not that I’m a sad person, but a soundtrack soothes me in a time of sharp emotion, and certain songs will always hit me in the chest. I only thought about the playlist recently because I hadn’t played it in so long. In fact, it seemed like the past decade of my life can be told by recalling how often I played it: All the time growing up, to only rarely pulling it out now.
I’ve listened to that playlist a lot lately. Life hasn’t been particularly hard, but emotions have rode high. And most of the songs still feel right. My songs of joy change over the years. Sometimes a song only works for a week and then it’s embarrassing or inappropriate. But the sad songs rarely stop working. I have songs in here I wept to on the edge of a creek in college, and at least one song that made me tear up during my bike ride home in high school. The meaning of each song changes as I find new reasons to be sad. New songs are added that speak to the sorrow I find before first hearing them. These songs express sorrow better than I can, and I am starting to lose hope that I will ever make such beauty out of my darkness. Do all the people who quote sad songs wish they had better words of their own?

Yes. At least, I do. Sometimes I find it so hard to understand how these people can express MY sadness with such eloquence. And then I realise that songs take on a different meaning to each listener - not in a bad way. It’s amazing that one song can speak to a thousand people, and each person understands it in a different way, however subtle.

Continuing with the devilish theme..

I just looked down at my phone to check the time, and it was 3:33. Exactly HALF of the 666!

Am I reaching? I think I might be reaching.

Your Daily Moss
I got excited.. I thought it was Daily Dose of Moss, as in Maurice Moss from the IT crowd. Sigh.
Well, why I’m here I may as well give you a Moss quote:

Moss: I’ve made a stress machine to try out on myself like the one in that class. Watch this. I’m going to ask myself a very personal question. [The needle goes to the end of the scale, drops, then goes back] Don’t worry, I’m not really going to ask myself any questions. [The needle goes back to zero]

OR

Moss: (Writing email to fire department) “Dear Sir stroke Madam, I am writing to inform you of a fire which has broken out on the premises of…” no, that’s too formal (Deletes). Dear Sir stroke Madam. Fire, exclamation mark. Fire, exclamation mark. Help me, exclamation mark. 123 Carrendon Road. Looking forward to hearing from you. All the best, Maurice Moss.

OR

Roy: [singing] We don’t need no education.
Moss: Yes you do. You’ve just used a double negative.

OR

Moss: Would I blow everyone’s mind if I ate dessert first?

I couldn’t choose.. I love that show so damn much.
